Ready-to-Ship Refurbished and Used Lab Equipment for Can-Cut Lead Times

When critical laboratory equipment fails, waiting weeks or months for a replacement may not be an option. An ultralow freezer can contain years of research, a chromatography refrigerator may protect temperature-sensitive reagents, and a cryogenic storage tank can hold irreplaceable biological samples.

Refurbished lab equipment that’s already tested and ready to ship can dramatically reduce replacement lead times. At American Instrument Exchange, we maintain a large inventory of refurbished laboratory equipment so labs can often replace critical instruments in days, or, in some cases, within 24 hours.

When Every Hour Matters

New laboratory equipment often comes with extended lead times. Depending on the manufacturer, it can take weeks or even months for new equipment to arrive.

Unfortunately, equipment failures don’t wait for production schedules.

We’ve worked with customers who have experienced:

In each case, getting replacement equipment into the lab quickly was the highest priority.

Upgrade your laboratory equipment

A Real Example: A -20°C Freezer Failed Overnight

Recently, a local biotech laboratory contacted us after one of their -20°C laboratory freezers failed overnight.

Their samples had been transferred into backup storage, but they needed a permanent replacement immediately. Waiting several weeks for a new freezer simply wasn’t realistic.

Fortunately, we had a refurbished Thermo Scientific TSX2320A laboratory freezer fully tested and ready for deployment.

Within 24 hours:

  • The replacement freezer from American Instrument Exchange was ready to ship, delivered, and installed.
  • The laboratory returned the samples to normal storage.
  • We removed the failed freezer and transported it back to our facility in Haverhill, MA, for repair and evaluation.

Instead of waiting weeks for replacement equipment, the laboratory experienced less than a day of disruption.

Need an Ultralow Freezer Right Away?

Ultralow temperature freezers are among the most critical pieces of equipment in modern research laboratories.

If your ULT freezer begins alarming, loses temperature, or suffers a compressor failure, waiting on factory lead times may not be an option.

American Instrument Exchange regularly stocks refurbished ultra-low freezers from leading manufacturers, including Thermo Scientific, Fisher Scientific, PHCbi, Stirling Ultracold, and VWR.

Our inventory changes daily, but many units are available for immediate shipment throughout the United States.

Purchasing New VS. Used Lab Equipment (1)

If your freezer fails today, give us a call. We may have a replacement on its way before the end of the day.

Cryogenic Storage Tank Problems?

Cryogenic storage systems are designed for reliability, but older tanks eventually require replacement.

If your liquid nitrogen storage tank shows signs of vacuum failure, excessive LN₂ consumption, frosting, or physical damage, replacing it promptly can help prevent much larger problems.

We frequently stock refurbished cryogenic storage tanks from manufacturers including Thermo Scientific, Taylor-Wharton, and other trusted brands, and many are available for immediate shipment.

Chromatography Refrigerators and Laboratory Refrigeration

Chromatography refrigerators are another area where downtime can disrupt laboratory operations.

Whether you’re storing HPLC solvents, chromatography columns, pharmaceutical products, or analytical reagents, maintaining proper temperature is essential.

If your chromatography refrigerator stops cooling, American Instrument Exchange often has refurbished chromatography refrigerators available immediately.

Rather than waiting for a manufacturer to build and ship a new refrigerator, you may be able to have a replacement operating in your lab within days.

More Than Just Replacement Lab Equipment

Fast delivery is only part of the equation. Every refurbished instrument we sell undergoes testing and refurbishment by experienced technicians before leaving our facility. Depending on the equipment, this may include:

  • Functional testing
  • Temperature performance verification
  • Electrical safety inspection
  • Replacement of worn components when needed
  • Thorough cleaning and cosmetic refurbishment

Our goal is to deliver equipment that’s ready to begin working as soon as it arrives.

The Four E’s USA Tissue Flotation Bath is Advanced, Affordable, and Quiet. Boasting the deepest dish in the industry, this laboratory device was designed to make processing tissue samples a cinch. The unit has a large color touch screen with easy-to-use advanced controls such as Auto On/Off, Timer, Heater and Light Control.  The design is also Fan-less and eliminates annoying noise when preparing FFPE microscope slides.  There is also no clumsy removable temperature sensor, the modern design has temperature sensor built into the device.

One of the biggest complaints about lighted tissue flotation baths is the depth of the glass dish. Customers are constantly filling the dish or hitting the slides on the bottom of the glass basin. Four E’s, rather than selecting a standard off the shelf glass dish, designed a dish that was much deeper than existing tissue flotation baths.

This tissue flotation bath has simple controls and useful features. The Auto ON / OFF feature will allow for the unit to automatically warm up, so no time is lost waiting for the device to reach temperature. The touch screen also has a built-in timer, and large buttons for the light and heater control.
