We’ve recently received several biosafety cabinets, including 6’ wide Labconco Logic+ models, 6’ wide Thermo Scientific models, Baker SG404 models, Baker SG403 models, and 4’ wide Nuaire models.  All of these are being sold with stands and new HEPA filters installed by our technicians prior to shipment from our shop in Haverhill, MA. All of these are Class II Type A2 models, meaning they provide personnel, product, and environmental protection through filtered air, laminar or unidirectional air, and a motor blower. Room air is drawn in through the front grill of the cabinet. The air is pulled under the work surface and through a back wall plenum through a motor blower. This contaminated air is then pushed into the central plenum, where a small portion (30%) of air is exhausted out of the top of the cabinet through a HEPA filter. The remaining air (70%) is re-circulated back into the work zone through a HEPA filter in a laminar (unidirectional) pattern. The air then splits on the work surface, pulled through the back wall grill, around the edges of the work surface, and back through the front airflow grill, where it is pulled under the work surface to start the air recirculation process.

For those customers in the market for CO2 incubators we have several recent vintage Thermo Scientific HERAcell 150i models in stock. These units come standard with an on-demand, automatic 90°C decontamination function that decontaminates the entire chamber interior without the need to remove sensors, fittings or shelves. Decontamination is highly effective against a wide range of contaminants, including mycoplasma. This HERAcell 150i features an electropolished stainless-steel interior with perforated shelves; the iCAN touchscreen; and pan-less humidity water reservoir that provides faster humidity which promotes improved cell growth.

Thermo Scientific HERAcell 150i models.

We also have several Thermo CryoPlus models in stock. These autofill cryogenic storage chambers provide accurate control and autofill capability without complicated programming feature top-mounted control panels that allow easy access to the CryoPlus’ microprocessor controller for programming. Two independent, flexible gaskets reduce the migration of moisture into the chamber and reduce icing. 24 tricolor LEDs continuously display actual liquid nitrogen level and high-level/low-level setpoints.

Caron Reach-In CO2 Incubator with Wheaton Roller Apparatus

Caron Reach-In CO2 Incubator with Wheaton Roller Apparatus.

The Caron model 7403 roller-ready CO2 incubator is ideal for scale-up production of monolayer cell cultures and other large-scale cell culture applications with roller apparatus. This reach-in CO2 incubator is designed specifically for use with cell roller apparatus and is supplied with an easy-to-use ramp for roller installation. Warm rooms are commonly used to perform cell production runs with roller bottles, however, these basic rooms limit production output mainly due to lack of control of pH. Caron’s application-specific design provides precise and evenly distributed temperature and CO2 so production capacity is maximized. This unit comes equipped with a Wheaton R2P 2.0 model roller apparatus with a clearly visible touch screen interface with readily recognized icons for intuitive navigation and capable of remote interface and monitoring through SCADA systems. The modular spacing at 7.125” between each rack is designed to provide sufficient room between the racks for ease of handling and manipulation of the bottles.
