If you’re looking for environmental chambers, we recently recieved some newer vintage Thermo 3920 models, both glass door and solid door options, along with some Thermo 3940 chambers with humidity control. All of these are large capacity units with 29 cubic foot chambers and large storage shelves. The Thermo 3940s have a temperatre range from 0C to 60C and humidity control from ambient to 95%, while the Thermo 3920s are temperature control only units, with refrigeration. The broad temperature range and large chamber on both of these models make them ideal for drug stability studies, shelf-life testing, and insect and other large-scale biological research. 

Speaking of large capacity, check out the Tuttnauer 3870ELP autoclave. This unit has an 85L chamber and can be used in a range of applications with four preprogrammed cycles for glass, plastic, liquid A and liquid B. Users can also create up to 16 custom sterilization cycles. This autoclave will sell quickly, so if you’re interested contact us ASAP! 

We’re always excited to get high quality benchtop lyophilizers in stock like this SP Scientific Virtis benchtop Pro model. It includes a 12 port manifold, vacuum pump, and features an omnitronics controller. It’s a compact, space saving design but with a generous 8L capacity and a -105C low temperature.

Clean benches, cryostats, walk-in fume hoods, environmental chambers, rotary evaporators and more – we’ve had a lot of equipment arrive recently and most of these are high quality, newer vintage units.

We’re already getting lots of inquires about the 6’ wide Labconco Protector Classmate laboratory chemical fume hoods. We have three of these units in stock and available. For customers in New England we can offer inside delivery and set up (call or email for info on fume hood set up). These hoods are designed specifically to meet the needs of instructional laboratories and classrooms, but can be a great additional to any lab looking for a chemical fume hood. These hoods are in almost new condition!

A Labconco FlaskScrubber Vantage glassware washer also arrived recently. This is a great option for contamination-sensitive research. The  Labconco FlaskScrubber Vantage Glassware Washer 422101010 is designed to wash and dry narrow-neck and general-purpose glassware. Able to reach wash temperatures up to 93° C (199° F) which can remove lipids and sanitizes glassware. It’s in like-new condition, Labconco catalog number 422101010.

If you’re looking for a microtome you may want to consider this Sakura Accu-Cut SRM 300 LT. It has a patented multi-colored LED backlit chuck to illuminate paraffin embedded tissue samples making them much easier to see and safer to section. The backlight increases contrast between specimens and paraffin so users can see exactly where the tissue is located to prevent cutting through a small biopsy or previously sectioned block. Again, terrific condition!

We also received another Buchi R-300 rotary evaporator system that includes a V-300 vacuum controller, a B-300 heating bath, and I-300 user interface. These systems are always popular and sell frequently. We include the full glassware assembly with a cold-finger condenser.

We’ve always been a big fan of Thermo products and so are excited to have a Thermo MegaFuge ST4R Plus-MD available. This centrifuge provides faster processing of more samples with a high capacity-to-footprint ratio and simple programming interface, plus the flexibility to run most tubes and bottles on one centrifuge. We also have Thermo Lynx 4000 and 6000 units in stock, with rotors!

We also received several lab benches and workstations, so if you’re setting up a new lab or new workstation these could be good options.

The user-friendly controls on the RC BIOS reduce variability and errors in programming entry. If you’re looking for a cryostat check out the Leica CM1950. This unit is a rapid sectioning cryostat with fully encapsulated microtome and independent specimen cooling system. This model is designed to allow for reproducible sectioning results in less than three minutes while providing easy operation and safety. We’re excited about this Labconco Freezone 4.5 benchtop freeze dryer with an eight port manifold. FreeZone 4.5 Liter Benchtop Freeze Dryers are designed for lyophilizing light to moderate sample loads. The compact design is ideal for labs with limited floor space. The upright stainless steel collector coil holds 4.5 liters of ice before defrosting. Two 1/3 hp HCFC/CFC-free refrigeration systems cool the collector to -84° C (-119° F), suitable for low eutectic point samples including acetonitrile.

If you’re looking for a laboratory glassware washer you should check out this freestanding/mobile unit from VWR. This economical unit features stainless steel construction for long life and corrosion protection, insulated external casing, and optimum heat and noise absorption. It has a digital microprocessor controller with display with five selectable wash cycle settings, separate wash and drain pumps, three separate filters protect pumps from debris, multiple cycle selections and microprocessor control systems, an enhanced dual fan drying system, temperature selection to 70 °C (158 °F) for optimal cleaning of different loads, and a delayed start feature.

We love this little spectrophotometer! The NanoVue Plus is a stand-alone instrument with a novel drop-and-measure sample plate that can be used with a wide range of chemicals. The sturdy chuck retains its position when locked and unlocked, eliminating any time and effort spent realigning the cutting angle. Wow, are we excited about this model! The Eppendorf 5920R centrifuge delivers extraordinarily high capacity in a very compact and ergonomic product design. It has similar dimensions as competing refrigerated 3 Liter models and yet features a superior capacity of up to 4 × 1,000 mL standard bottles, 28 × PCR plates or 196 × 13 mm round-bottom tubes, or 52 × 50 mL conical tubes thus making it the ideal instrument for high-throughput applications. (Various rotors required to accommodate all these capacities.) Eppendorf developed the Dynamic Compressor Control (DCC). Unlike other compressors which switch back and forth between 0 % and 100 % performance output, DCC allows for a constant and smooth temperature regulation. May typically shapes up to be a busy month, so we’re really happy that we’ve received a lot of high quality, low use, good condition used lab equipment to offer to our customers. Recent arrivals include over twenty biosafety cabinets, incubators, ultralow freezers, laboratory fridges and freezers, and brand new products from 4E’s USA.

If you’re looking an ultralow freezer, check out the Thermo RLE ultralow freezers, featuring intuitive, color touchscreen display and interface that have been placed at eye level. The capacitive touchscreen works even with gloves on! Download temperature logs and events via USB port—replacing the need for a separate chart recorder and saving paper and storage space.

Thermo Scientific TSX2320

And speaking of cold storage by Thermo Scientific, this Thermo Scientific TSX2320 manual defrost freezer is designed for applications in which even slight intermittent coil warming during auto defrost cannot be tolerated.   The design supports sample protection and sustainability objectives for the storage of enzymes, reagents, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biological and other commonly used laboratory and clinical materials.

We recently received a 6’ wide Labconco Paramount ductless fume hood. Unlike traditional fume hoods, they require no ducting so they can be moved from lab to lab. Paramount Ductless Enclosures are capable of using both carbon and 99.99% efficient HEPA filters for removing gaseous and particulate contaminants. Labconco Paramount enclosures feature a slotted rear baffle promotes horizontal laminar airflow to ensure vapors and fumes are drawn to the back of the enclosure without causing turbulence that could cause lack of containment. We also have a smaller Erlab Captair 392 ductless fume hood in stock.

If you’re looking for a glassware washer check out this Miele PG8583, which includes steam condenser, stainless steel interior and exterior, powder detergent dispenser and liquid acid neutralizer dispensing. At the time of manufacturing, the PG 8583 Laboratory Glassware washer was the only glassware washer available with the ACT Label. The ACT label, also known as the Environmental Impact Factor (EIF) criteria, ensures that products carrying the label are safe and sustainable.

We also have a Caron Reach-In CO2 incubator with a Wheaton 5-tier roller apparatus. This unit is ideal for scale-up production of monolayer cell cultures and other large-scale cell culture applications with roller apparatus. This reach-in CO2 incubator is designed specifically for use with cell roller apparatus and is supplied with an easy-to-use ramp for roller installation.

The PharmaGard NU-PR797 is a USP 797 Compliant Primary Engineering Control (PEC). Defined as a Compounding Aseptic Isolator (CAI), model NU-PR797 is composed of a stainless-steel enclosure and polycarbonate front window with gloves that provide 20 air changes minute of ISO Class 5 HEPA filtered air for the preparation of sterile, non-hazardous drugs. The isolator is sub-divided into a work chamber that is kept at a more substantial positive pressure than the adjoining interchange chamber, which is positively pressured to the room. This cascade of pressure prevents contamination in the interior. A sliding door and work tray allow the passage of items within the isolator before compounding, while the hinged front window allows easy access for maintenance. The Buchi R-300 rotary evaporator “rotavapor” system includes the R-300 tower B-300 heating bath, F-105 recirculating chiller, and V-300 vacuum pump. The Buchi R-300 features an ergonomic handle with conveniently change the position of the lift, direction rotation speed control for immediate adjustment of rotation speed, and Combi-Clip flask connection. Buchi rotary evaporators allow users to quickly perform single step distillations in a product friendly manner with the evaporation and condensation of solvents using the rotating evaporating flask. Distillations are typically performed under vacuum, which helps protect the product and increases performance output. While specific conditions will varying depending on application, the basic operation of a Buchi rotovap system is as follows: the solvent is heated over a heating bath while the drive unit rotates the evaporating flask evenly. The solvent vapor flows quickly into the condenser and the energy in the solvent is transferred to the cooling medium. And presto bingo, the solvent condenses and collects in the receiving flask.
