The Baker Edgegard EG4252 has been the most consistently popular 4’ wide clean bench in our inventory for many years. It’s a durable, well-designed machine from The Baker Company, a name synonymous with quality laboratory products.

Like all laminar flow clean benches, the Baker EG4252 assures product protection and is used in pharmaceutical production, research laboratories, manufacturing facilities, aerospace, bioscience, food processing, hospitals, and other research and production environments, and assure product protection by only allowing HEPA filtered air to cross the work surface.

Baker Edgegard EG4252

The Baker EG4252 is a console style clean bench, meaning that the bottom-mounted motor draws air through the lower front panel and sidewall section slots. Then the pre-filter traps dust and large particles, after which the air travels through a HEPA filter at an average velocity of 100 fpm before being directed horizontally across the work surface.

For a limited time – while supplies last – we have brand new, unused models in stock and available.

So if you’re looking for a clean bench and want to save some money, please give us a call or email today. We install new filters in all the clean benches we sell and put each clean bench through a certification process to insure that the controls and blower motor work properly and the HEPA filter is effective and suitable for use in lab conditions. We generally price our equipment at 40% to 60% the price of comparable new models.

Whenever we have the opportunity to purchase Avestin products – whether as part of a larger lab cleanout or simply from a customer looking to liquidate equipment in order to convert an idle machine to working capital – we get excited. Why? Well, not only are Avestin products reliable, solidly built, and effective, but Avestin also happens to be a great customer to work with.

So when this Avestin C3 arrived in our shop we immediately schedule an appointment with a field service rep. He came to test the machine and confirmed that it’s in great working order, replaced a gauge and some fittings, and now it has been fully tested and is ready to ship to a lucky customer.

Avestin Emulsiflex C3 homogenizer

The Avestin Emulsiflex C3 is a the Avestin Emulsiflex C3 is a lab scale, electric motor driven, high pressure homogenizer that rapidly reduces particles and droplets from micron to nanometer sizes. The Emulsiflex C3uses a dynamic homogenizing valve. The benefit of a dynamic valve is that the samples are processed at a constant homogenizing pressure. This produces very uniform liposomes and micro emulsions with a narrow particle size distribution.

The electric motor driven pump provides homogenizing pressures up to 30,000 psi (207 MPa).The processing capacity is up to 3 Litres /hr and the flow rate is independent of pressure. It can process samples as small as 10mL.

This homogenizer is designed so that no ‘O’ rings or gaskets are in the pate of the product and so that All materials within the wetted parts path will withstand prolonged exposure to high pressure steam for the purposes of sterilisation (SIP). This model is also suitable for use in temperatures down to 4°C, so it’s suitable for cold room operation.

We work with a lot of environmental chambers here at American Instrument Exchange – humidity chambers, diurnal growth chambers, reach-in CO2 incubators – and Caron Products models are always some of our favorites.

The Caron 6545-1 photostability chamber is no exception. This model is designed to perform near UV and visual light testing in a controlled atmosphere environment. The interior lights automatically shut off after a specified exposure level or time duration. Ultrasonic injection and mechanical refrigeration allow for precise humidity control while uniform light distribution and high intensity levels allow quick response for forced degradation testing and confirmatory studies. Two light detectors (one VIS and one UVA) with an integral radiometer are standard and provide precise and accurate light intensity measurements and temperature control.

One feature that really jumps out at us when using the Caron 6545-1 is the control interface. It’s front mounted, bright and easy-to-read, with responsive touch-screen. When the unit is placed on a benchtop the screen is at or near eye level for most users. The navigation is icon-based and simple to learn. Other features include automatic or manual settings allow for flexibility in test time durations, as well as simplifying chamber validation, and programmable alarms will notify users when aging lamps should be replaced.

Caron 6545-1

The Caron 6545-1 is refrigerated and has a temperature range from 5°C to 35°C as well as active humidity control from 40%RH to 70%RH. The typical UVA light intensity is 20 W/m2 while the VIS light intensity is 20 klux. The chamber has a 10.5 cubic foot capacity.

We have an oversupply of CO2 incubators available, including models from Panasonic/Sanyo, Heraeus, and NuAire. While supplies last we are offering these units at 50% off – meaning you get two from the price of one. See details below on available models.

Panasonic/Sanyo MCO-19AIC air-jacketed CO2 incubators

Panasonic/Sanyo MCO-19AIC air-jacketed CO2 incubators

The Panasonic/Sanyo MCO-19AIC CO2 incubators are designed for demanding and regulated applications in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, medical research and clinical laboratory. Common lab uses include stem cell research, autologous tissue regeneration & regenerative medicine, in vitro fertilization, genomic and proteomic expression, esoteric plant and amphibian cell culture, hypersensitive and transgenic cell culture, low media volume microplate work, among others. We’ve written about these models on the blog before are we’re big fans. These incubators feature two decontamination processes in a single unit. The automatic decontamination process begins with a vaporized H2O2application followed by UV exposure. The H2O2application ensures complete decontamination of all interior components and CO2sampling loop. The UV exposure adds redundant decontamination and reduces the H2O2to water vapor and oxygen eliminating any user health hazards from the vapor application. This process provides complete sterilization in less than three hours and eliminates the need for autoclaving, minimizing downtime between product cycles. Opening the front access door starts a UV exposure cycle maintaining sterilization within the incubating compartment.

Heraeus HeraCell 150 air-jacketed CO2 incubators

Heraeus HeraCell 150 air-jacketed CO2 incubators

These are classics – hardworking, durable, dependable incubators without a lot of style or flashiness.  The HeraCell 150 models feature ContraCon 90°C decontamination cycle decontaminates the entire interior of the chamber and is proven to eliminate contaminating organisms including mycoplasma. The HeraCell 150 has a humidity system that features rapid recovery time after the chamber has been opened in order to provide optimal growth conditions and protect cultures from drying out.

NuAire NU-8700 water-jacketed CO2 incubators

NuAire NU-8700 water-jacketed CO2 incubators

These fixed-stack dual-chamber units are optimal for storage of embryos, gametes, animal tissues, and other sensitive samples. The microcomputer based control system monitors and controls the temperature, humidity and CO2 levels independently in each chamber. The large 20 gallon water jacket is an ideal heat sink for precise temperature control of +/- 0.2°C at 37°C. The chamber temperature ranges are 5°C above ambient to 55°C. CO2 can be injected and maintained between 0 and 20%. Humidity is monitored using a solid state capacitance sensor and displayed between 10% and 95%. Humidity control is achieved through evaporation from a water reservoir placed within the autoflow chamber.

So if you’re in the market for CO2 incubators and are looking to save some money, please give us a call or email today. While supplies last these units are priced as low as $1,900 per stack!
