These centrifuges use ultra-harmonic technology, which leverages intelligent acceleration and deceleration profiles, reduces sample disturbances and provides time savings. The Ultra Harmonic Technology optimizes sample separation by reducing the net changes of forces to the sample, maximizing the amount of specimen presence in the pellet, and reducing the presence of contaminants or unpelleted materials in the supernatant. The Thermo 3310 SteriCult features integral 140°C high-temperature sterilization function that simplifies cleaning protocols and optimized airflow system that does not interfere with samples or incubator function, as well as in-chamber HEPA air filtration continuously removes particulates for Class 100 quality conditions. The Thermo 3310 allows users to carry out high-volume culturing with strict contamination controls. The on-demand 140°C sterilization cycle eliminates contamination from internal surfaces and an audible alarm activates if outer door is opened during the cycle or if temperature reaches 60°C (140°F) or greater.

The VirTis Genesis 25L SQ Super ES-55 pilot lyophilizer with five top-down hydraulic stoppering trays can be used to lyophilize and stopper multiple vials under vacuum or freeze dry batch samples for bulk processing. This is a freestanding and mobile model with no hard installation required that allows for easy start-up and scale up from research to full production. The condenser has a max capacity of 25L and maximum ice condensing capacity of 12L per 24-hour period. The condenser can pull down to -45°C in 25 minutes or less while the shelf temperature can reach -40°C in 30 minutes or less. The single 1.5hp compressor run on MO89 refrigerant which is CFC free.

Thermo Precision Plant Growth Chamber

We always try to maintain a wide selection of used and refurbished incubators and environmental chambers here at American Instrument Exchange, including specialized plant growth chambers.

Like incubators, laboratory plant growth chambers are designed to maintain a constant and uniform temperature throughout the chamber in order to create a temperature-controlled environment. Plant growth chambers have the additional feature of interior lights to simulate sunlight and facilitate organism growth.

The Thermo Precision plant growth chamber, model TFFU20F2QWA, features programmable temperature settings which enable users to input light cycles for a seven-day program with up to two light cycles per day. Temperature is also programmable with a range of -10°C to +50°C with the lights off and +10°C to +50°C with the lights on. The Precision PR505755L plant growth chamber allows the user to program into memory 2 sets of values for time, setpoint temperature, and light condition per day for a full week.

The refrigeration system, defrost heater, and air circulating fan are used in conjunction with a microprocessor controlled proportioning circuit to achieve sensitive temperature control. An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) located in the airstream senses any temperature deviation from the control point, and heat is provided proportionally to maintain the desired temperature. Regardless of what temperature is being maintained, the compressor operates continuously. The circulating fan provides even air distribution throughout the chamber and ensures temperature uniformity.

Labconco Freezone 12 stoppering tray lyophilizer

Labconco is one of our favorite vendors, and we are particularly fond of Labconco freeze dryers. This system consists of a Labconco FreeZone 12 (catalog number 7754040) and a stoppering tray dryer (catalog number 7948040). The system has a 12L ice holding capacity, the collector has a -50°C low temperature range, and is configured for 230V electrical.

The Labconco Freezone 12 is designed for moderate aqueous sample loads. The system removes a maximum of 8 liters of water in 24 hours and features brushed stainless steel and powder-coated steel exterior; stainless steel collector and coil; LCD that displays system operating parameters, set-up parameters and alarm messages; 1 hp CFC-free refrigeration system; red alarm light; LED vacuum and temperature wave graphs; patented moisture sensor; vacuum control/break valve; rear-mounted RS-232 port; automatic start-up switch for collector cool-down and vacuum pull-down with manual override switches; hot gas defrost and switch; and a retractable collector drain line.

Labconco FreeZone 12.

The FreeZone Stoppering Tray Dryer has three shelves, each measuring 1.6″ x 12″, that hold serum bottles or vials. When the stoppering control is activated, the shelves raise via an expanding diaphragm that permits stoppering under vacuum of containers on all three shelves.
