Beckman Optima MAX-XP Tabletop Ultracentrifuge
Click here for more details about the Beckman Optima MAX-XP available from American Instrument Exchange.
For decades Beckman has consistently manufactured some of the best centrifuges on the market. So when we got our hands on the Beckman Optima MAX-XP we were very excited to give it a try.
The first thing we noticed is that this centrifuge is quiet, with half as much sound as other tabletop ultras and significantly less dBs than floor model options. Even at runs up to 150,000rpm the volume was unexpectedly low. The full-color touchscreen is easy to read and has remote monitoring and control features.

Bells and whistles aside, the Optima MAX-XP is ideal for applications requiring high speed and g-forces with volume flexibility, like viral vector gene delivery and nanoparticle applications and also meets the needs of traditional laboratory applications, including separation of subcellular particles and protein purification and isolation. It’s fully compatible with a complete library of fixed-angle, swinging-bucket and unique near-vertical-tube (NVT) tabletop rotors. In short, this is a power-packed solution that delivers fast, efficient separations from samples as small as 175 μL up to 32.4 ml and at speeds of up to 150,000 RPM and more than 1,000,000 x g.
Security features include rotor identification by serial number as well as password protection and electronic signatures help you maintain chain of custody and compliance. The Optima MAX-XP’s rotors and its labware are designed, manufactured and tested as an integrated system for optimal performance and safety. The advanced software supports rigorous electronic recordkeeping with password-controlled access and audit trail documentation. The system monitors and records individual user and run data, rotor logs and more. Also features real-time speeds, time and temperature, and a customizable user interface for up to 12 persons. Plus, access to an array of language, including French, Spanish, Japanese, simplified Chinese and more.
So if you’re in the market for a tabletop ultracentrifuge please give us a call or email about the Beckman MAX-XP. Thanks!
