We’re very excited to have some Nuaire LabGard ES NU-540-400 biosafety cabinets in stock here at American Instrument Exchange. While we’ve always been a fan of Nuaire BSCs the updates present in the NU-540 series represent some significant improvements when compared to the classic and still popular NU-425 models.
First and foremost, the Nuaire NU-540 bio cabs are much more energy efficient than previous models. The DC ECM motor is economical and relatively quiet during operation. The Aeromax control system continually monitors motor performance (among other metrics) and displays the pressure in the cabinet’s internal airflow plenum. The ‘nitecare’ mode which allows the blower to operate at a lower rate when the sash is closed, saving energy and extending the HEPA filter life.
Second, the NU-540 has improved ergonomic design that incorporates at 10⁰ slope into the front window for easier viewing that encourages users to adopt better posture while seat at the biosafety cabinet opening.
Third, the base stand design has been improved – it is both stronger and lighter than some previous iterations, with sturdier sidewalls and a more dependable crossbeam.
Like all Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinets the Nuaire NU-540-400 is designed to protect both personnel and product while working with low to moderate risk biologicals and is 70% recirculating, 30% exhaust.
