These past few weeks have been extremely busy here. We have been working hard to meet customer demand while our staff follows best practices, including wearing masks, social distancing in the warehouse, shop and office, as well as regularly disinfecting the facility.
We recently received a few Nuaire LabGard NU629-600 biosafety cabinets. These are 6’ wide Class II Type A2 models with energy efficient motors. Other features include greater visibility and reach through a large 12” access opening along with Class II Type A2 bio-hazard containment through a 105 FPM air barrier as well as uni-directional laminar airflow minimizes air turbulence and cross contamination between animals. Additionally, the HEPEX plenum inflates to provide quiet uniform air without transferring vibration. As with all our BSCs we’re selling these with stands and new HEPA filters which we install here in our shop in Haverhill, MA.
And speaking of biosafety cabinets, we also received some Baker SterilGARD III SG603A-HE units – one of our favorite models. This cabinet is an updated version of the classic Baker SG600 series and boasts an adaptive ergonomic design and efficient airflow management system. The ergonomic design helps prevent repetitive motion injury, reduces fatigue, and enhances productivity. The Baker SG603-HE features a new airflow management system called StediFLOW. This technology includes a self-adjusting motor that uses less energy AND extends the life of HEPA filters for a double whammy of saving your lab money, all without sacrificing the safety of operators.
If you’re looking for an incubator shaker we have a couple of New Brunswick Innova 43s in stock. These chest-style floor shakers are a great choice for handling large volumes of cultures. The top loading design allows for vertical placement of the flasks. A pedal operated lid and a window in the sidewall overlooking the samples. The simple user interface allows for easy programming of speed, temperature, time and the VisioNize box can be added to enhance monitoring and adds notifications functionality. Regular servicing can be carried out in-situ, allowing for minimized downtime.
We also received a handful of Thermo Revco ultralow freezers, including a 24 cubic foot capacity Thermo Revco UxF50086 and a 33.5 cubic foot capacity Thermo Revco UxF70086.
The Thermo Forma 3310 is always a popular incubator. These units are ideal for cell culture work and features integral 140°C high-temperature sterilization function that simplifies cleaning protocols and optimized airflow system that does not interfere with samples or incubator function, as well as in-chamber HEPA air filtration continuously removes particulates for Class 100 quality conditions. The Thermo 3310 allows users to carry out high-volume culturing with strict contamination controls. The on-demand 140°C sterilization cycle eliminates contamination from internal surfaces and an audible alarm activates if outer door is opened during the cycle or if temperature reaches 60°C (140°F) or greater.
Speaking of incubators, we have several Thermo Forma 3950 reach-in incubators. These are large capacity incubators that provide a generous 29 cubic foot chamber for culturing large volumes of patient samples for bacterial growth, performing short-term growth studies and work with large volume products. The Forma 3950 features elevated relative humidity to prevent product desiccation in medium term cultures and three different water fill options. The heated, tripled-pane glass door minimizes condensation and provides users with a clear view of the chamber.
Additionally, we have a Miele G7825 glassware washer. The Miele G7825 washer-disinfector is designed to clean, rinse, disinfect and dry re-usable medical devices, laboratory equipment and accessories from these areas. This high throughput glassware washer has a relatively small footprint given its capacity. Applications for the Miele G7825 include surgical instruments, minimally invasive instruments, instruments for anaesthetics and intensive care, baby bottles and teats, rigid sterilization containers made of stainless steel and aluminum (including colour anodized aluminum), laboratory equipment used in research and production, laboratory equipment for analytical and preparation applications, and microbiology and biotechnology laboratory equipment.
