As usual we’ve been selling biosafety cabinets like crazy for the past few months, so we’re constantly resupplying our stock of Baker SG403 and SG603 models as well as NuAire NU-425-600 units and Thermo 1300 series units. We’ve also had some other nice equipment coming in – see some of the highlights below!

We’re really excited to have an Avestin Emulsiflex C3 homogenizer in stock. Avestin products are well designed, reliable, and effective, and on top of all that Avestin is a great company to work with. All of their employees are both knowledgeable and friendly. We always recommend that customers contact Avestin for installation and training. We actually had one of their technicians come by our shop to take a look at this C3. It’s a lab scale, electric motor driven, high pressure homogenizer that rapidly reduces particles and droplets from micron to nanometer sizes. The Emulsiflex C3uses a dynamic homogenizing valve. The benefit of a dynamic valve is that the samples are processed at a constant homogenizing pressure. This produces very uniform liposomes and micro emulsions with a narrow particle size distribution. We’ve replaced a gauge and some fittings and this unit has now been fully tested and is ready to ship!
Another unit we’re excited about is the Esco Airstream horizontal laminar flow clean bench. This unit is a 6’ wide model and includes the stand and a new filter. It features built-in tempered glass sides, external rotor motor system, variable speed control. The interior surface will not chip, rust or generate particles. The spillage-retention work top design with a recessed central area ensures that all liquid spills are contained. The high quality ULPA filters, utilizing an improved mini-pleat separation technique to maximize surface area, improve efficiency and extend filter life. Filters operate at a typical efficiency of >99.999% at 0.1 to 0.3-micron sizes, providing superior product protection over conventional HEPA filters.
If you’re looking for a large capacity glass door refrigerator, you should consider this True GDM-69 three door model. We received a few of these and their all in very nice condition. Each unit has a 62 cubic foot storage capacity, temperature range from 0.5°C to 3.33°C, and low-e thermal glass sliding doors.
And speaking of large storage capacity, this Darwin DB052 refrigerated incubator is a great option. With 52 cubic feet of storage space and a temperature range from 4°C to 60°C, this unit can be used for a variety of different applications requiring temperature stability for sensitive sample storage. The stainless-steel exterior is easy to clean and looks sleek, too.

We also have a Thermo Scientific MaxQ 8000 incubator shaker in stock. This model features a HEPA filter that ensures the air inside the chamber remains clean and reduces cross contamination, feature a slide out platform that provides convenient 100% sample access. Temperature range is 10°C above ambient up to 60°C, with a 2.5cm orbit on the shaking platform and shaking speed up to 400rpm. The MaxQ 8000 has a fold-down door with ergonomically designed door handle, large quick-release base, and dedicated or universal slide-out shaker platform provide convenient access to your product, regardless of its position on the 29.5” x 18” platform. And the flip-down handle/latch on the quick-release base prevents the shaker from running if the universal or dedicated platform is not secured.
As always we have some nice rotary evaporator systems available, including a Buchi R-215 and an R-210 that recently arrived. All of our rotary evaporator systems include full glassware assemblies with ‘cold finger’ dry ice condensers (water cooled coil condensers are available for an additional cost). Both of these systems include a vacuum controller, vacuum pump, and heating bath.
